Stories shape worlds. Futures are built in the telling. Join us for a two-part gathering where storytelling and worldbuilding become tools for justice, governance, and collective thriving. Part of the Alworth Center’s 2024-25 Peace & Justice Series (theme: "What is Peace?"), this offering invites participants to weave narratives, kindle imagination, and move with the principles of WeGovern to imagine futures rooted in mutual care, equity and connectedness. Facilitated and brought to you by the Washington DC-based Resonance Network, with support from Duluth-based Men as Peacemakers, and in collaboration with the Alworth Center for the Study of Peace and Justice at the College of Saint Scholastica.
Resonance Network is a network of over 3,000 Black, Indigenous, immigrant, women, femme, trans, and two-spirit people and their co-conspirators who are building a world beyond violence—a world rooted in mutual care, where all people live in dignity, and all beings can thrive. Resonance Network believes a world beyond violence is possible—and within reach. This world will exist when there is: widespread individual commitment to personal healing and transformation; deep relationship building in communities to practice and grow beyond dominant culture norms; the will and capacity to create collective systems that reflect these values and take them to scale. For more information, please see https://resonance-network.org/.Friday workshop participants should commit to attending the Thursday evening public lecture (if possible) and the entire day on Friday. The Alworth Center will provide Friday participants with a boxed lunch and coffee breaks.
